The story that began with the relationship between society and individuals in 2019 evolves into a contemplation of the environment and humanity. The performance <funeral of="" existence=""> on a boat journey from Jeju Island to a smaller island called Tiger Island in Korea in 2019 was meant to record memories of relationships and events, transcending the sense of place. However, that place ultimately accentuated its non-placeness. The artwork "It will be my new home" is, in contrast, an attempt to rediscover the placeness of non-placeness. We believe and wait for the ocean to become the land someday, but the sea level keeps rising and does not seem to lower anytime soon. We accidentally step on the land and shout out that it's ours, but even that is nothing more than a mumble.

"Beneath us lies a hidden land. We tread upon the sand, yet rarely do we delve into the depths below. As waters rise, the land recedes. We name a place and make it home. Yet, when we depart, it becomes 'the ruined.'" -Yihwa Kim
